Day in The Life of Rett

"Imagine the symptoms of autism, cerebral palsy, parkinsons, epilepsy, and anxiety

 all in one little girl"

Reagan is 12 years old, 74 pounds, non mobile, non verbal , has seizures and a feeding tube.

Standing is very difficult for her since she can only bear little weight and has severe scoliosis. She has to be carried room to room. Mom and Dad are constantly shifting, tugging, pulling, pushing, transferring Reagan daily.

Reagan is nonverbal and very often gets frustrated . She watches mickey mouse clubhouse all day long to keep her calm with specific episodes recorded onto DVDs.  Mom and Dad must have at all times when at home or out or Reagan will have huge meltdowns.

Medicines and supplements are given thru her feeding tube, with many supplements that have to be measured precisely and given at specific times.

Reagan has seizures and dystonias several times a week, sometimes daily. Medicines are given to help, but makes her very lethargic and have loss of appetite.

Reagan's body has uncontrolled movements at all times. She rocks back and forth and her little hands pat against her chest, while having breathing irregularities.

Reagan's parents care for her around the clock for feeding, changing, bathing, dressing, even holding her cup to drink, monitor her for seizures, and travel with her for special treatments (not covered by insurance) to keep her body healthy.

As Reagan is getting older,  it has become a greater challenge for her parents to take care of her . They are in great need of a ceiling track system to transfer her while keeping safe, and a handicapped van for travel to doctor appointments.  If you feel led to donate, please click on our fundraising link. The family appreciates every donation and every prayer!
